United Kingdom-based discount store Poundstretcher has recently begun selling a vegan version of popular Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Similar to their dairy-based counterparts, these cruelty-free treats—made by Kavici Choco Spheres—combine chocolate, nuts, and wafer, and are “accidentally” vegan thanks to the inclusion of cocoa powder, sugar, cocoa mass, wheat gluten, cocoa butter substitute, wheat flour, salt, and soy. Heart-shaped boxes at Poundstretcher cost approximately $4 (US), while individual chocolates cost approximately $1.40. Earlier this month, alcoholic beverage company Baileys introduced its vegan Almande at supermarkets such as Ocado, Asda, and Waitrose.
