Recently, The Huffington Post published an article on the health benefits of eating cruciferous vegetables and their ability to kill off leukemia cells. The popular news site referenced the PLos ONE journal, which reported the study. The Huffington Post says that the findings reveal that the vegetable’s sulforaphane compound killed the cancer cells, specifically for leukemia. But while the cruciferous vegetables showed positive results, it was used in such a concentrated amount that it would not show the same effect from normal consumption. Nonetheless, such a finding is noted as an important discovery in the field of alternative cancer research.
