What is flan traditionally made of?
Flan has its roots in ancient Rome. According to Socorrat, a Spanish restaurant in New York, ancient Romans created the dish as a way to use up extra eggs. Colonizers eventually took it to the Americas, where it became popular in present-day Mexico and throughout the rest of Latin America.
