Dr. Praeger’s Debuts Vegan Protein Line
The health-food company is introducing two new burger patties, three types of chicken-free tenders, a meatless sausage, and supergreen nuggets.

New Jersey-based food company Dr. Praeger’s announced last week the introduction of a new meat-free product line called Pure Plant Protein. The new items include two vegan burger patties (the Sweet Heat Beet and a new version of the All-American), Breaded Chick’n Tenders in three flavors (Classic, Grampa Mel’s BBQ, and Gametime Buffalo), Sunday Funday Meatless Sausage, and Super Greens Veggie Nuggets. While these foods are cruelty-free and will be made with pea protein, carrots, black beans, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash, Dr. Praeger’s CEO Larry Praeger said vegans are not his company’s target audience. “Flexitarians are one of the fastest-growing groups out there,” Praeger said. “They want and deserve better tasting meatless products with ingredients they know and recognize. This is for them.”
