What is an Instant Pot?

So many Americans don’t have the luxury of time when it comes to cooking. In 2023, research from Frito-Lay North America and The Quaker Oats Co noted that the average American only has less than one hour each day to prepare and eat their meals. If you’re a busy person who doesn’t have time to cook, an Instant Pot might be about to become your new best friend.

An Instant Pot is, basically, a multi-functional electric pressure cooker. The various models combine several kitchen appliances into one, including a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, yogurt maker, and warmer. They typically feature multiple settings, and this allows users to easily prepare a variety of dishes with minimal effort and in less time compared to traditional cooking methods.

They are versatile, incredibly convenient, and easy to use. Instant Brands may have struggled in recent years, filing for bankruptcy in 2023, but many experts note this is not a reflection of a poor-quality product. In fact, it is likely to be quite the opposite. Multiple factors led to the filing, but one is that Instant Pots are durable and effective—customers don’t feel the need to keep buying more after they’ve bought one.
