Crossroads Kitchen, the acclaimed Los Angeles-based vegan restaurant backed by musician Travis Barker, has expanded its reach by offering nationwide shipping of its signature plant-based dishes. Through a partnership with the gourmet food delivery service Goldbelly, customers across the US can now enjoy Crossroads Kitchen’s renowned Mediterranean-inspired vegan cuisine from the comfort of their homes.
The nationwide shipping menu includes a variety of Crossroads Kitchen’s most celebrated dishes in make-at-home meal kits. Customers can savor the hearty tagliatelle bolognese featuring a rich plant-based sauce, vegan chicken scallopini, linguini with mushroom scallops, and fresh rigatoni tossed in vodka sauce. For dessert, the restaurant’s macarons provide a sweet conclusion to the meal. The offerings come as meals designed to serve four to eight people.
“America’s best vegan chef”
Chef Tal Ronnen, recognized by Oprah Winfrey as “America’s best vegan chef,” founded Crossroads Kitchen in 2013 at the intersection of Melrose and Sweetzer in Los Angeles. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its upscale ambiance and innovative plant-based menu, attracting a diverse clientele of vegans, flexitarians, and omnivores. It now also boasts locations in nearby Calabasas as well as Las Vegas, NV.

“Introducing diners who are not plant-based to our style of cooking is a really great feeling. Oftentimes people are dragged to the restaurant by a friend and don’t know what to expect, and it’s always the diehard carnivores who become long-time fans of our food and regulars at the restaurant,” Ronnen previously told VegNews.
The expansion into nationwide shipping reflects the growing demand for high-quality plant-based dining options. According to think tank The Good Food Institute, the U.S. market for plant-based foods is worth more than $8 billion. More than 60 percent of US households purchased plant-based foods in 2023, similar to the prior year. Plant-based foods made up 1.1 percent of total retail food and beverage dollar sales in 2023.
Vegan dining in Los Angeles
Los Angeles plays a key role in driving that shift. The city has been recognized as a leading destination for vegan cuisine, reflecting its diverse and innovative plant-based dining scene. The city boasts a wide array of vegan restaurants, from upscale establishments like Crossroads Kitchen, to casual spots such as Monty’s Good Burger offering plant-based fast food. The vegan dining platform HappyCow named Los Angeles the third best city for vegan food worldwide last month, following London and Berlin and beating out Portland, OR in the US.

“2023 [to] 2024 were challenging years for vegan businesses, with a significant drop in vegan restaurants in many cities,” Eric Brent, founder of HappyCow, said in a statement. “This decline is partly due to increased vegan options at regular restaurants, leading to more competition.”
He added, “Combined with inflation, higher rents, and a reduced lunch crowd from remote work, these factors have created difficulties for vegan business owners who often operate on low margins and adhere to costly ethical standards. However, demand for vegan options and overall traffic continues to grow strongly.”

Last month, Los Angeles hosted its first-ever Plant Based Dining Month—a partnership between the climate action app Dashboard.Earth and the Plant Based Treaty. Crossroads Kitchen was a featured restaurant in the campaign, offering customers free appetizers for logging their meatless meals in the climate app. “Crossroads Kitchen exists to prove no one has to choose between delicious food and doing good,” Ronnen said about Crossroads’ involvement in the campaign.
