Suzy Amis Cameron has unveiled Inside Out LLC (IO), a global holding company dedicated to pioneering sustainable and ethical solutions across six key industries: science and technology, fashion and textiles, food production, education, media, and wellness. Rooted in the philosophy of “Business for the Environment,” IO is designed to integrate cutting-edge science, technology, and education to harmonize commercial success with meaningful environmental and social impact.

To bring this ambitious vision to life, Amis Cameron is in the process of raising $300 million, contributing $65 million of her own capital. Over the past two years, she has assembled an international team spanning the US, Italy, and New Zealand, building a diverse portfolio that spans multiple industries.

“Inside Out is more than a company: it’s a movement to reimagine how business interacts with the planet and its people,” Amis Cameron said in a statement.

“We’re setting a bold new standard where profit aligns with purpose and innovation drives restoration. Through collaboration, science, and creativity, we’re building solutions that honor our responsibility to the generations we will never meet,” she added.

Sustainable solutions across industries

The science, research, and technology sector will collaborate with leading institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Texas Tech, and Georgia Tech, to develop innovative solutions that address some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

The fashion, textiles, and home division will be led by Matteo Ward, founder of the consulting agency WRAD. This branch of IO has already acquired WRAD, integrating its European team into IO’s global network. The division is also investing in pioneering companies like Rubisco, a New Zealand-based company specializing in sustainable innovations.

The food production division aligns with Amis Cameron’s long-standing advocacy for plant-based diets. She has championed this lifestyle through her book, The OMD Plan: Swap One Meal a Day to Save Your Health and Save the Planet, which encourages individuals to replace one meal daily with a plant-based alternative.

The initiative aims to develop food and beverage products that nourish individuals, restore ecosystems, and sustain communities. Her commitment to plant-based living extends beyond advocacy, as she and her husband, filmmaker James Cameron, have co-founded plant-based ventures such as Verdient Foods, Cameron Family Farms, and Food Forest Organics. Their work with the Plant Power Task Force focuses on raising awareness about the environmental impact of animal agriculture.

Education has been a cornerstone of Amis Cameron’s sustainability efforts, exemplified by her co-founding of MUSE Global School in Calabasas, CA. The school stands out as the first in the country to be entirely solar-powered and zero-waste while also offering a fully organic, plant-based lunch program. IO’s education division will expand on this foundation, promoting eco-conscious learning that integrates sustainability into its core curriculum.

Through IO’s media sector, Amis Cameron is building on her experience as a producer of documentaries that explore the intersection of sustainability, health, and ethics. The Game Changers, which she executive produced, showcases elite athletes thriving on plant-based diets, while Milked examines the environmental toll of New Zealand’s dairy industry. The media arm of IO is committed to producing thought-provoking content that inspires audiences to take an active role in shaping a more sustainable future.

The wellness sector is focused on science-led solutions for health and well-being, further aligning with Amis Cameron’s dedication to plant-based living and holistic sustainability. By integrating forward-thinking health solutions with environmental consciousness, IO’s wellness initiatives will explore innovative approaches to improving human and planetary well-being.

Joining Amis Cameron at IO are industry veterans like Erik Stangvik, who will serve as managing director. With three decades of experience, Stangvik previously owned and operated The Body Shop franchises throughout the US. Also joining the leadership team is former Deloitte partner Blair Knippel, who will serve as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise in sustainability, finance, and global business strategy to IO’s expanding operations.

Amis Cameron’s legacy in environmental advocacy is well-documented. In 2009, she launched Red Carpet Green Dress, a global initiative that spotlights sustainable fashion at the Oscars. Collaborating with renowned brands like Armani, Vivienne Westwood, and Reformation, the initiative has helped push eco-conscious design to the forefront of high fashion. Her work in plant-based advocacy began in 2012 after she and James Cameron adopted a plant-based diet following their viewing of the documentary Forks Over Knives. That shift in lifestyle sparked a deeper commitment to sustainable food systems, leading to multiple business ventures centered on regenerative agriculture and plant-based nutrition.

IO comes amid the escalating frequency and intensity of climate-induced disasters, such as the recent Los Angeles wildfires, which underscored the vulnerability of communities and industries. Climate change has led to increased frequency and severity of droughts, floods, and other extreme weather events, disrupting crop yields and threatening food security. Politically, the imposition of tariffs has further complicated the landscape. The European Union’s plan to impose counter-tariffs on €26 billion (approximately $28.3 billion USD) worth of US goods—including agricultural products—in response to US tariffs on steel and aluminum, exemplifies the geopolitical tensions affecting the food sector.

These challenges highlight the urgent need for swift, sustainable solutions, according to Amis Cameron. “This is the beginning of a journey to turn challenges into opportunities and leave a legacy of positive impact.”
