Ahead of the inauguration of Joe Biden as the next president of the United States on January 20, the President-elect’s rescue dog Major will have his own “indoguration” on January 17. The Biden family adopted the German Shepherd from the Delaware Humane Association (DHA) in 2018 and he will become the first dog adopted from a shelter to reside at the White house.

Indoguration Details
Hosted by The Today Show’s Jill Martin, the DHA in partnership with insurance company Pumpkin Petcare will stream what they call “the world’s largest virtual party for dogs” via Zoom on Sunday to raise funds so that other rescued dogs are able to “live the American dream.” Prior to the indoguration, participants can nominate their dogs to be part of Major’s Cabinet as the “Secretary of Rescue Dogs.” Special guest Sir Darius Brown—a 14-year-old entrepreneur and animal advocate—will choose five winners, who will receive bow ties specially made by Brown himself. Brown is also selling indoguration bow ties ahead of the event, the proceeds of which will benefit DHA.
