Five-time Olympic snowboarding legend Shaun White is making headlines again—this time in the culinary world. White has partnered with CookUnity, a leading chef-crafted meal delivery service, to launch a limited-edition menu aimed at active individuals seeking nutritious and convenient meals. Available for a three-month period as of January 12, the exclusive 25-meal collection has been developed in collaboration with award-winning chefs across the US. The goal? To provide health-conscious consumers with flavorful, nutrient-dense dishes that support high-energy lifestyles.

“At CookUnity, we believe in the power of chef-crafted meals that prioritize both nutrition and flavor,” Mateo Marietti, CookUnity founder and CEO, said in a statement. “This partnership is about bringing people delicious, high-quality meals made by top chefs, designed to fuel busy, active lives. We’ve created a menu that offers real, wholesome ingredients, expertly prepared, and ready to enjoy in minutes, so our customers can eat well without compromise.”

White is the latest celebrity name to back the meal kit and delivery industry. NFL superstar Tom Brady teamed up with plant-based meal kit company Purple Carrot in 2017 to create TB12, a line of meals that were inspired by his well-documented diet and fitness regimen. Beyoncé partnered with 22 Days Nutrition on a vegan meal delivery program, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop launched the clean eating Goop Kitchen platform during the pandemic.

The timing of White’s partnership aligns with the meal delivery industry’s rapid expansion. The US meal delivery service market was valued at more than $10 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $19 billion by 2029. This growth is driven by shifting consumer preferences toward healthier lifestyles and time-saving solutions, making services like CookUnity an attractive option for busy professionals, families, and fitness enthusiasts alike.

CookUnity, founded in 2015, stands out in the crowded meal kit landscape by offering restaurant-quality, ready-to-eat meals crafted by a roster of more than 70 chefs. Unlike traditional meal kits that require cooking, CookUnity delivers pre-prepared dishes that only need to be heated. Its menu spans more than 400 options, catering to diverse dietary needs and preferences. Shaun White’s exclusive selection adds to this variety, offering meals designed to fuel active bodies with a balance of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats.

Among the standout dishes on White’s menu are the Sesame-Ginger Tofu Poke Bowl by Chef Emily Peck, Thai Butternut Red Curry by Chef Raymundo Agrazal, and Mushroom Rice in Butternut Squash by Chef Lena Elkousy. Each dish is crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and designed to deliver both flavor and function—making it easier for consumers to maintain energy levels, recover after workouts, and stay on track with their wellness goals.

White’s partnership with CookUnity also highlights a broader shift in the way consumers approach food and wellness. The rise of athlete-backed meal services points to an increasing desire for guidance from trusted figures in sports and fitness. Brady’s Purple Carrot collaboration, for instance, introduced many consumers to plant-based eating, while White’s focus on well-balanced, high-protein meals caters to those who prioritize performance and recovery.

Last year, the snowboarder’s Whitespace label teamed up with High West Distillery on a limited edition merchandise collection, with 20 percent of proceeds benefiting Protect Our Winters, an organization focused on climate action and protecting outdoor spaces.  Aftеr I rеtirеd, I took a brеak and thought long about whеrе I wantеd to focus my attеntion,” White said at the time. “I have always enjoyed High Wеst’s whiskеys, so whеn I hеard about their Protеct thе Wеst initiative, it got my attention.”
