Easy Homemade Sesame Milk
Sesame seeds provide a boost of calcium in this DIY milk.
February 21, 2025
The real sesame flavor in this unique vegan milk is reminiscent of halva, that ultra-sweet Mediterranean dessert made from sesame paste. Plus, those little seeds are an unbelievable source of calcium, so drink up!
What you need:
3 cups water
½ cup untoasted sesame seeds
2 tablespoons maple syrup or 2 pitted Medjool dates
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
What you do:
- Into a blender, blend water, sesame seeds, maple syrup or dates, and vanilla until smooth and frothy. For a silky milk consistency, strain mixture through a nut milk bag or a few layers of cheesecloth over a bowl or milk container.
- Squeeze gently to remove all the liquid. Store milk in a Mason jar in a refrigerator for up to 5 days. The milk might separate while sitting, so be sure to give the jar a shake before using.
